Where I stayed
Hi y'all
Our third day in Jackson with the District Conference being on yesterday and today. Very folksy stuff , only about 200 attendees out of a district of 3,600 Rotarians.
We continue to receive right royal treatment ... our presentation today being roundly applauded as one of the best anyone can remember . Soooo many people reckon they are going to come and visit that I am beginning to shudder at the thought of the next 12 months!
We are staying at the Doubletree Hotel about 5 km out of town so there is not much to do between sessions but rest (phew!)
The highlight of the stay in Jackson was being taken to the minor league baseball game on Thursday night where the West Tenn Jaxx defeated Huntsville (9 - 1). But the girls took their Aussie big fingers and generally stirred up the whole crowd becoming celebrities. TV cameras came to where we were sitting, kids came down and wanted to borrow the fingers, we got free baseballs and t-shirts from the Jaxx, and Georgina was invited to go out into the middle of the field and play blind man's buff in a break (baseball is not the most exciting thing to watch).
At noon tomorrow we are off to Savannah and Clifton (nothing happens on Sunday morning) to meet our new hosts for the next 4 days.
Just heard that the Dockers won the Derby. Unbelievable!! Stopping the Eagles run! Wow!
I want my seat back!! Go Dockers.
See y'all

Good to see technology accompanying you
Hi Ross
Great to see you and the Girls using a Blog to keep us upto date I will definetly be following you trip.
Sounds like you are having a ball and why doesn't it surprise me to gear that G was out in the middle of the stadium. A bit of Aussie character will always prevail.
Please pass my regards on to the rest of the team and enjoy showing the folk over there the high quality of larrikins we really are. :)
