We had our first day with the teachers today. The group seems less interested, but maybe it's me. I'm still very tired from our long trip here.and maybe I'm somewhat lonely without having any real extended deep conversations with anyone. My lack of Chinese prevents that--everyone at the table is often engaged in dialogue with lots of people speaking rapidly and quickly back and forth, obviously sharing different ideas and opinions. Often, when I bring up something, it creates little dialogue. Anyway, the hotel here doesn't seem to have sufficient hot water resources for the people that are staying and I couldn't bare a cold shower this morning.  When we complained to the manager (there was none yesterday either), she just flat out said that there were too many people staying here. I find  this explanation hilarious.
Okay, the hotel is redeemed somewhat. I just had a decently warm shower.

Mojiang is supposedly a place to come to drink water out of a special well and then spend the night in one of the many hotels with your spouse, or at least have sex somewhere, in the day or night, and you are more likley to concieve  twins.  Twins are very prized here, given the one child policy. Twins don't count, so there is no penalty. I wonder what the black market is like for fertility drugs. Maybe that 's what is in the well, and people have to pay a lot for a sip. Or maybe the drugs get sold with the hotel room, and no one cares about hot water. Every year there is international twin day here and it is huge festiveal. Today, there was a twin's birthday party in the hotel.

It is difficult to get really cold drinks here and I am really missing ice. Most people drink warm or hot water and yesterday, some of the officals told me that I should not drink cold water, as it isn't good for the stomach.

I'm too tired to even so a spell check.

Sandy, LOVE the travel log! I admire how you're stretching so far out of your comfort zone to do this work. What an amazing experience. Keep-up the great work!
