PRELUDE:
In the interest of time, this blog is mostly to post photos, so the usually "story" will have to wait, if at all...
-----
INTRO:
My not-girlfriend, Michele, was in Japan by cooincidence (well, sorta:); she took the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo and I met her at the station in Osaka. I surprised her with a couchsurfing adventure planned for the nearby Nara Prefecture and the old city of Nara (site of the original capital of Japan). She was excited!
-----
NIGHT #1:
Our first night was spent with Eri (age 25) and her family. They feed us a wonderful Japanese dinner and set us up in a traditional tatami guest room. Wonderful hosts:) I only wished we'd had more time to spend with them.
-----
NIGHT #2:
Our second, and final, night was spent with Haruna, a 21 year old college student. Her loft apartment was very small, but she graciously hosted us. We were very thankful. She gave us a guided tour of the old city, plus threw an autentic takoyaki (octopus balls - no, not those kind!) party for us! How's that for native flare! We enjoyed talking about travel, language, music, and other things. Again, I wished we'd had more time.
-----
PHOTOS:
OK, on to the photos to tell the rest of the story!...
P.S. The photos are in the wrong order, sorry:) They are correct in the editor, so I don't know what's up. "If debugging is the process of removing bug, then programmings must be the process of putting them in!" Gotta laugh along with life:)...
