Where I stayed
We spent two days in Lubbock Texas, the reason for our visit was to see the Buddy Holly museum in the town he grew up in. That was it, and that was all the town had to offer really. We arrived at the bus station at 9pm, and walked right through the centre of town to our motel and we passed no people and saw no cars, it was a ghost town.
So as Kristina was suffering from a heavy cold we rested up in our room and then headed for Crickets Avenue the next day to visit the Buddy Holly museum. The displays are excellent here, and you get the feeling of real affection for a young musician that in his brief career put Lubbock on the map, and touched many people with his music.
We saw and did little else in Lubbock, except see a freaking sand storm. This had us running home to our motel room, which was hard in 70mph winds which pelted us with red sand!
Next stop Dallas!
