Well, I've been in Broome nearly a week and am getting used to being on my own. Neal helped me find a nice campsite with lots of friendly people and I've been very comfy.

Highlights of the week were a big nite out to an open mike nite and the local 'club' Tokyo Joe's (you knew it was a club - there were disco balls - otherwise you may well have mistaken it for someone's front room), a fishing trip out with Neal (he caught a Mackerel, I caught nowt) and a day on his sofa in front of the TV (luxury!) whilst house and cat sitting. I also fixed a radiator hose issue on Lara all on my own, and am feeling particulary smug and proud, especially since I did it on the beach and had to deal with the constant distractions of conversations with very naked men (is a clothing optional beach). Why is it always the older guys who get their kit off, whilst the younger ones keep covered up ??

This weekend is Shinji Matsuri, the festival of the pearl, so there are dragon boat races and a float parade in town - should be good fun. I'm also looking forward to seeing the 'staircase to the moon' - a natural phenomena caused at moonrise by the reflection of the moon on the mud flats.

Right - I'm off to the beach! Lots of love to everybods
