There was not a lot that we looked at in Casablanca.  We spent the morning at the Hassan II Mosque, a new mosque that opened in 1993 which can hold 25000 people inside and another 80000 in the outside areas.  We did a tour inside and this was my first experience of wearing a headscarf, a little odd and I got quite hot wearing it.

On to the next city of Rabat.  This city was a breath of fresh air, smaller, cleaner and much more relaxed towards tourists.  You could walk in the markets and not get harrassed to buy something upon your every step, prices were much more reasonable.  There is a housing area called the Oudayas Kasbah that almost looks like the houses you see in Greece, all blue and white, narrow alleyways.  very pretty.  We also visited the Mausoleum of Mohammed V (the burial place of the King's father) with the Hassan Tower next to it, a quick look at the outside of the Royal Palace & the pretty Chellah Gardens.  We finished the day by driving to Fes where we went for dinner and returned to our hotel for a few drinks.  Alcohol is available in Morocco but it depends on where you are.  Most hotels will have a bar but you won't see any out and about in town.  I think it's only the locals that might know where apart from larger hotels you can have a drink.  Often it would be only males in there anyway.
