This was a beautiful relaxing day.. other than the usual parking issues (and a minor scrap with some city workers.. just practicing being a real italian :). We found the ferry easily enough.. tough to miss right there in front of us, had time for a cappuccino, boarded and found a great spot to sit, catch some sun and check out the spectactular coastline around Porto San Stefano and Monte Argentaio as we headed to Isola del Giglio. The trip was about an hour, after which we hiked a km or so to the closest beach , Cannelle I believe (not the biggest or most scenic on the island but we just wanted to get there, get our towels out and soak up some sun and enjoy, so it did the trick). After a very relaxing few hours we trekked back into town in time to tour the port, do a little touristy shopping, and board the return ferry. Most people on the ferry seemed to be in the same state as us.. a little overdone from the sun, and tired, but with a smile on their faces after a great day on the island.
