So we arrived in Istanbul after a refreshing journey on Easy Jet that dropped us right in the middle of the city. The wrong city of course, but only a short bus and ferry ride from Istanbul... Still it was rather nice to arrive by ferry across the Bospherous..in fact the Lonely Planet recommends you do it as a trip anyway so that was one thing ticked off the list before we even started. Since then we have been steadily achieving. Blue Mosque tick. Aya Sofya tick. Topkapi Palace tick. Jandle/Flip flop blisters tick!

Dragged Louise down to Gallipoli to see where the Brits used us colonials as cannon fodder. She actually refused to leave the coach and insisted we all serve her tea and scones the duration of the day. Some things don't change after 91 years...

Simon on the other hand was loving Turkey right up until the six hour bus journey to Selcuk with the Turkish pop cranking through the bus stereo. I realised it had all got too much for him when he asked in all seriousness if I thought they had tuned up the speaker next to him especially loud!

Just finished another day in the sun looking at the ruins of Ephesus. The place was a bloody shambles.... We will bore you all with the photos (300 on the digi and a couple of rolls on the old school SLRs) in due course.

Nice Sandals Herr Schmidt
I am pleased that you have seen the light and gone with the best sandal in all of Germany. And they go so well with the hat.

Sounds like you guys are having a blast. Nice one, euGen
