Gatwick Multi-Faith Chapel

The day came when Judith picked us up and took us to Toulouse airport.
From there we flew to London Gatwick, with my friend Liz and her son Luc.
The menfolk of our trip had already flown out two days before.

The journey was a bit of an endurance test, though not without its joys.
The children made a big adventure of the plane flight, running up and down the aisle, and there was quite an Ab Fab moment at the airport as they rode on the baggage carousel. We were waiting some time for the cleaners to retrieve a money bag Rosina had left on the plane.
Escalators everywhere became a playground for Rosina and Luc.

But bedding down in Gatwick for the long nights wait was problematic, because all the seats had already been taken up by grungy homeless people.
Our solution was too sleep on the carpet of the multi-faith chapel, and we had rather a cold uncomfortable time of it. Three people sat in the chapel that night in quiet reflection.
When Liz popped her head up to look around one man told her it was forbidden to sleep there and that the police could come and pull us out. Liz prayed that all would be well and it was.

By early morning various Moslems were arriving to do their prayers towards Mecca.
