I delighted in seeing the lotus flower opening up in the morning.

Also, we noticed that some old mosquito bites of Jai's were going septic, which I suspected was from the sea water at Matara, as the water there had stung my own cuts.

We walked along the beach to watch the surfers, and then while Andy went back to get his costume, I walked onwards to the swimming beach, were Jai played in the sand first, and then came in the sea with me. I held him while he floated, until the time that a wave crashed over us, and he didn't like that. On the beach we made some pools in the sand with canals leading to the sea.

Andy turned up and we went up on the terrace of the Drunken Monkey to drink papaya juice.
Andy decided to try out surfing, with Jai and I watching from a beach café.
For two hours Andy surfed in the hot sun.

We arrived home just as a storm was approaching.
Andy had made a momentous decision to forsake his veganism and join in eating the appealing foods on offer. Though the evenings tomato soup was strangely disappointing. They had run out of cream and the soup just tasted like a tin of tomato's with the lumps still in it.
