We went to Hanmer Springs spa. Very nice - lots of pools with varying minerals. 2 were purely natural waters - very hot - 41 degrees! couldn't stay in long but it was lovely. All very relaxing - well for me anyway. Dave was OK at first but then got bored - not ball games allowed!! I would definitely recommend a trip. It's not expensive either.
The next day we decided to stay in Hanmer Springs and Dave persuaded me to go white water rafting again. After my last scary experience, I wasn't at all keen. However, it was a grade 2 river. It was really good fun - there were only 4 of us in the boat and the scenery was lovely. A bright blue river because of the minerals from the rocks. We jumped off a rock into the river at one point when we stopped. Dave went of a high one (about 7 metres) and I went off a lower one (I don't think it had a measurement!!). It was really cold and I really had to swim hard to get back to the shore. It was great fun and I was pleased with myself, even if it was a small jump! At the end of the rafting, a jetboat picked us up and whizzed us back up the river. That was so fast and he kept heading for the rocks and then turning away just as we got to them. He did 360 degree turns. Really exhilarating - good fun.
