My welcome to England has been a pretty busy one to say the very least! Appart from getting the wheels in motion to remain settled here for awhile, I have caught up with Pru and been tripping around with Jen!

Last weekend Pru, Jen and myself kicked things off to a great start at Thorpe park - a huge amusement park which Jen had found some half price tickets for over the Internet. Up until this experience the extent of my "thrill riding", had simply been the "Super Loop" at the Easter Show in Auckland! We had a great day out, only once having to stop for a "nausea break" having been hurled up side down and round about once too often.

Sunday proved to be a real lazy day, the three of us went to the markets and spent the afternoon at a "Jack the Ripper" pub (where one of his victims was drinking before being murdered), was abit of a hoot really as we just lounged around on couches drinking the avo away. Pru had afew friends who met us there, Hanna turned up and the 3 of us (Jen, Hanna and I) went to Salmonella Dub (Kiwi music for those of you who have no idea what I am on about). A fantastic day, Salmonella dub was awesome.

From there Jen and I packed up "Sharon Karen" (aka Jens beautiful VW station wagon) and headed north to Stoke on Kent... home to Robbie Williams, Stokes claim to fame! We stayed with a couple of Jens elderly relatives - lovely people, but pretty hard work because they talked continuously for the entire time we were there as old people seem to do. They cooked us up a lovely meal though (first proper sit down meal I have had since leaving home) and they had a canal in their back yard along with afew squrells. All very English! Even got to see the canal boats going through the locks. The oldies created abit of scandal for Jen and I though - we accidently stumbled on afew things on their computer, whilst we were searching for somewhere to stay in Wales, that we really were not meant to have seen. Even with our worldly sexual knowledge we had no idea what the hell they had been searching for, clearly dodgy though! Jen and I got a fair bit of mileage out of it though, we haven't been able to keep a straight face since.

Sharon Karen then steamed us onwards to Wales where we stayed for a night in Caerarfon, we visited the castle - what a beauty. Then onward bound for Dublin it was. In getting as far as Dublin I had been co-driver the entire way, Jen had printed out really detailed instructions from AA Route Planner on how to get from A to B, in all reality we had no problems at all... that was until we reached Ireland! They don't seem to have sign posts anywhere... literally nothing. Within 1Km of the ferry terminal we were lost and it took us about 1.5 hours simply to find our way out of Dublin. We bumbled our way down to Cork though, Sharon Karen loaded to the hilt, but managing all the way.

Jen introduced me to Sudoko in Cork, purchased me a little book and all - over night I have become a Sudoko addict! Cant get enough of the stuff. Managed to spend afew hours at the Blarney castle though (yes I kissed the Blarney stone) and had a wander around Cork. Only really got to spend the day in Ireland, but I figure I will be back. Apart from being really poorly sign posted, it really was lovely.

For now I am back in London staying at Hannas and putting a huge effort into finding work. Seems to be abit of a tough market, slim pickings for SusieG, but I will give it afew weeks of serious looking in the Food sector before I take whatever I can get.
