Although this place is impossible to spell (it has taken me the entire 3 days to get it right!) Ljubljana is a great place - really little (maybe only 250,000 bods) but it is a real student place, lots of young people, cafes, people riding old bikes, a lovely river and if one place were to epitomise Eastern Europe it would have to be Ljubljana.

I travelled here with Helen, of whom I have spent the last 3 days with. Helen is a true blue Aucklander - a great chic and I really enjoyed her company. I would have been pretty dull without someone to share the time here with. Besides it is now well and truly the off season and accommodation was at a premium, when had to get a 2 star hotel as opposed to a backpackers (all closed!).

Anyway, this afternoon I take my first ever trip on the MacDondalds of airlines (Easy Jet) through to the mother ship. As long as the plane gets there, that is all I care about. A large part of the last 3 days has surrounded arranging my luggage in such a fashion that I can get it onto the plane without too much overweight. Given that I purchased a large artillery shell (turned into a work of art) in Bosnia it has been abit of a challenge! It will be interesting to see if I have succeeded.

I am destined for Hanna's house (friend from Hamilton) in London and from there I have afew tasks for the rest of the week - get a bank account, get a cell phone (I have made 2 phone calls in the last 4 months, so a cell phone will be a real novelty!) and get a hair cut! Over the weekend I am off to Salmonella Dub with Jen and Pru (from Dunedin days) and then I think I might be going to the coast of Wales with Jen who is onward bound for Ireland and will be catching the car ferry from Wales. From there I am considering the possibility of heading up to Scotland next week for afew days to see Angela (friend from home) and then back to London! I seriously cannot wait to see everyone and having a phone again will be like total freedom. Over laid all this activity will be the hunt for work, but I figure that with a cell phone I can do alot of hunting around.

As for this set of travels - magic really! Next big trip on my list will cover West Africa, so if anyone is keen for that let me know (I am thinking Morrocco, Mauratania, Mali, Burkina Faso and Ghana). Other than that I am thinking of afew short trips - Iceland is probably top on my short trip list at the moment. There is a time for work and a time for play and my time for work is all but due.
