Well, today was a relatively uneventful day, which was good, because its really been nice relaxing a bit after being on the go for five or six days straight. However, we are leaving tonight at 230 in the morning for La Paz, and then for Cocacabana, since I told Mike Id hang out with him for a couple more days before I head down into the heart of Bolivia. If Bolivia were a store it would be Dollar General. No wait! Better yet, when I open a dollar store Im gonna call it Bolivia, because they`ve got great stuff at super cheap prices. I love it! Anyways, today after I bought a couple plane tickets for Tina and myself, helped mike change his plane ticket, bought bus tickets for tomorrow, and had another incredible Jugo de Platanos con leche, Mike and I headed out for the big hill over looking the port here in Arica. Its a really nice view of the city, but unfortunately the city is not much to look at. The army seemed to be having some sort of gathering up at the top of the hill as well, so we decided to take off to let them do their business. After that we walked along the shore in the opposite direction than we had walked the day before and we found another beach, where a bunch of kids were surfing. Mike was walking along the edge of the water with his jeans rolled up and sandals off and I was about ten feet further away from the water. At one point a huge wave came crashing in and it ended up going up a lot further than the other waves had and Mike got completely soaked. When I heard him grunt I looked over to see a mini tsunami rushing towards me at the speed of water, and I took off in the opposite direction. Luckily, I made it far enough away that my only pair of shoes didn't get soaked, even though I have to admit that in the heat of the moment I almost lost my balance and fell backwards directly into the water. So, after the "accident", as we called it, we decided to head for dry land and get some ice cream. And it was gooooood! So now, here I am, writing in my travelpod, spending to much money for internet, and wondering where Im going to open my first dollar store!
