Anyway, haven't really done a great deal since my last entry...........mainly lazing on the beach, swimming & hanging out with friends.......it's such a hard life!!
The weather's been gorgeous now for the last few weeks so I'm getting even darker!!! I managed to extend my visa here for another couple of months so will probably be staying until 16th March before heading back to SE Asia.
We've had a bit of sad news here..............Emily & Rasika's dog Pongo died quite suddenly a few weeks ago which was a bit of a heart wrench for everyone. Also I stupidly dropped my camera the other day & the LCD screen broke so had to make another 3 & a half hr bus journey up to Colombo to get a new one. Cameras are definitely not cheap here!!
One of my friends Jo left yesterday & headed to Thailand but I think she'll be coming back in a couple of weeks! This place really is so magical, you just can't stay away!!!
Been eating lots of gorgeous sri lankan food...........rice & curry, egg rotis, vegetable rotis, egg hoppers & string hoppers (can't really describe what these are but they're all delicious!!!)
Been into Galle a few times but not yet been to the fort...........I really must do that sometime soon!! It's just so easy to get trapped in the Unawatuna bubble & not go anywhere! And lazing on the beach is so easy to do!!!
Went to a surfing competition up in Hikkaduwa (slightly north of Galle) today which was really good fun. Quite a few of my friends here entered & 1 of them (Rasika) got through to the finals on Tuesday so we'll be going back for that. That also coincides with Bob Marley's b-day (sri lankans all love him!!) so there's going to be a big open air reggae concert too which I'm looking forward to.
Not much more news I'm afraid..............just that I'm still having an amazing time!!!!
