I took 4 flights to get from Sacramento, CA to Kathmandu Nepal. 

Sacramento to LAX
LAX to Hong Kong
Hong Kong to Bangkok
Bangkok to Kathmandu

I had a 8 hour planned layover in Bangkok and thankfully my Uncle was able to come pick me up and take me to lunch and to a local temple before I headed back to the airport (where my plan to Kathmandu was subsequently delayed another 4 hours...).
