Where I stayed
Santiago, our final destination in Latin America, started badly. We were easy targets for the cowboy taxi drivers coming off a 24 hour b*s from San Pedro de Atacama but after 8 months of travelling in Latin America, we have no excuse for getting so badly burnt. Then to make matters worse, hostels in Santiago are expensive so we were really bleeding money we could ill afford to bleed. Luckily things improved the next day as the area we were staying in was full of cool graffiti and murals which will make excellent fodder for a mural photo montage type thingy.
At this stage we had become way too excited about going to New Zealand to function normally let alone do any activities, so we did nothing. We went to the airport a mere 4 hours ahead of our flight and despite our excitment we were a little sad to be leaving Latin America.
