Back in not-so-sunny-anymore Antigua, it was fairly cold but at least it wasn´t raining. This was to be a gloomy couple of days as the sisters impending departure loomed over us like the clouds over Antigua. We made the most of it however with lots of fine dining, massages, cards, shopping, movies and relaxing. We felt very much at home in Antigua even though for some unknown reason it´s a very confusing town and we kept getting lost.
As is often the case, the big night out we planned as a goodbye for the girls was a non event ending very early with everyone too tired for any craic. The following day however was unexpectedly a cracker. After tidying up loose ends (shopping and backing up photos), we rendezvoused early in the day in a fancy café with a sunny patio. We spent the day there playing cards, drinking, eating, laughing and generally spending a Guatemalan fortune. We proceeded to an Irish bar to wind the evening down where we laughed a lot more. The early morning departure was very unwelcome and sad.
The action packed two and a half week sister act was at an end and there would be no more family until August. It was time for supertramps to have to decide what to do next so a weeklong homestay with spanish lessons in nearby already visited San Pedro sounded like a good way to recover from the devastating sisters.
