Where I stayed
Colombias Carribbean coast is where a lot of Colombians head for Christmas. So, after picking up our passports in Bogota and paying our old hostel bill, we joined the masses and headed north. We choose Taganga because it sounded like a good small beach town and we could do our PADI open water scuba diving course there. It turned out Taganga was perfect for us. We finished our million peso scuba diving in four days (with a Portumna girl as our instructor - very random!) and began relaxing for Christmas. We had plenty of big nights out in Taganga sipping rum and coke on the beach, but Christmas eve was one of the biggest. Our attempt at cooking a roast dinner for Christmas day was tasty but scarcely worth the effort. Overall though we had a very memorable Christmas, lazing about on the beach, swimming in the Carribbean (any time of day or night) and partying in El garaje, Tagangas only night club.
