10 and a half hours later, Ive made it to Chile. Arrived without a hitch.  Had to pay $132 USD 'reciprocity fee' to get in.  Luggage was waiting, transvip bus was waiting and dropped me at my door.  Hostal Forestal.  Nice place.  Hablen mucho de ingles.  Spent the day walking around the area. Empandas, arrollados are my fuel.  The hostal is well situated.  Good coffee is not in abundance. Cerveza is, fortunately.

After a few cervezas Pato, the host, takes us to la festiva at Parque O'Higgins, featuring many 'fondas' and I'm not talking outspoken actresses.  First a stop at Pato's friend's apartment for a couple of Cuba Libras.  Then on to the festiva.  Kabobs, chirosos, churros served a from myriad vendors, fondas galore.  A couple of bucks gets you a cerveza and a kabob.  Delicioso.  The feature, chicha.  Some kind of homemade sweet wine, served in recycled pisco bottles. Killer buzz likely to be followed by a killer hangover.  Made it home around 2:30.

Tip: Careful with Chicha
