So the adventure really starts the minute you leave the plane.  The long walk to the immigration area.  4 US passports and 1 Barbados passport with a US Visa puts us into the Visitors queue.  NO problem..  until the guy walks through and says "shift change".. and the officer who's line you have been standing in for the last 15min (watching everyone else go before you in other lines, even when they have been behind you in the big queue) says.. "sorry closed, move to another line".  So we did.. and it was better.  Nice Immigration officer.  nice guy no problem.

I then lead my family to the baggage area, we collected our luggage and headed for the Air train.  Elvis would have preferred to take a taxi, but me, wanting to save money, didn't.  it was an adventure for Annie and Eli.  so we found the sky train.. road it to Federal Station and then waited for the hotel shuttle to pick us up.

The Best Western JFK is adequate but small.. the lobby is tiny, the elevator is tiny.. and the rooms.. well .. for 4 people fine.. 2 adt/2chd.. no worries.. but not for 5 (which we would be on the return).

anyway.. it was for sleeping.. we got up early the next morning.  got the 6:30am shuttle to the airport.. got our bags through Delta with no baggage fee (cause we came in international within 24hours).  and then stood in the outgoing security line for 20min.. oh joy.  but it was fine  We got to our gate , got some nice Starbucks coffee... and waited for the flight.  Good flight to Burlington Vermont, where our adventure started..
