Kelly and I came to Nosara again to check out a lead on a property that sounded perfect for us.  We flew in on July 2nd and by July 3rd, we knew we wanted to stay here!  The house is just what we needed (minus the pool...but, with the beach a 3 minute walk, who is complaining).  It is a two story, 2 bedroom, 2 full bath home.  It has two beds in Kelly's room, a queen bed in my room, and 3 extra day beds throughout the house.  It has an open patio upstairs and a washer/dryer (hard to come by), a microwave, hot water (also not a given in CR) and rocking chairs everywhere (5 total).  There are howler monkeys all around our place cause we are surrounded by jungle foliage.  The road we live on is not a main road, so less traffic means more monkeys ; )

Guess what we did for the 4th of July?  A BBQ/pool party with fireworks and all!  Yep, there are a ton of ex-pats (people that live here from the states) that all got together and had a party.  It was weird being around so many gringos....we like a more mixed crowd.  So, we didn't stay long, but it was nice seeing fireworks here!

On July 6th we deposited our rent, rented a car, and drove back to Atenas to pick up all our luggage. It is a 5 hour drive due to the roads and construction. We also knew of a couple that were trying to get rid of their dog, Coco, who we love, so we picked her up as well.  We renamed her Zuko (neither of us liked Coco).  Zuko is the name of their local Tang drink here....plus, it sounded enough like Coco, so as not to confuse the poor dog.  She is about 2 years old, a boarder collie/husky mix and very loving.  She had never been to the beach before (living inland of CR only) and she likes it, but won't get in the water (yet!).

Then, the neighbors (Pancho and his boys) had a couple kittens they were giving away.  I had went to dinner at their restruant when Jim and Gingh were in town and this little yellow/orange kitty kept climbing up my skirt.  Well, that is the kitty I wanted....she looks alot like Parker even.  She is so tiny...and friendly for being an outdoor cat that has been brought in doors.  She sleeps in my bed...in my arms, or sometimes on my head or back.  She meows if I leave the room.  Soluna is her name.  Sol (sun) Luna (moon).  Last night she got outside and started crying and crying....but wouldn't let us get near her.  She was so scared...so, we put out tuna and Kelly did a daring rescue attempt with a towel (yea!)  She has only been here two nights but I am in love with her!

Yep, a dog, and a kitty.  We are nesting, big time.  We have been hanging out with a lot of the locals and getting to know what to do, and where to go.  Kelly already had a lot of connections here, and I had made a few of my own last time I visited (early June).  This is home.  We are so happy.  Now, we just need our friends and family to come for a visit!!!  It is rainy season (which mean things are cheaper...but it rains almost every day in the afternoon) and the only time I won't be here is from August 1st-16th (I will be in Peru) and the whole month of October (I will be in the states)  Any other time is good for a visit.  Get your passports if you don't have one already and start making plans!!

Pura Vida!!
