Last Day in Queensland

For our last day in the north, we relaxed, ate, and talked with Jo about our trips. Today was our anniversary, and Jo offered to watch Kellen if we wanted to go out. So after a day of hanging out on the local beach, going back to Cairns to do some more gift shopping, and more hanging out on the beach, we went a few blocks down the road to dinner at Coolums On The Beach.

The place had a beautiful view of the beach (or so we expected, it was dark out,) and was very nice. We had our best and fanciest meal of the trip here. Erik had vanilla infused lamb with pay lentils while I had fish with citrus mash and wasabi aioli and asparagus with hollandaise. For the dinner, Erik had kangaroo on a puffy pastry with chocolate and macadamia nuts (it was tasty, too -E). Dessert was a jaffa soufflé (orange with chocolate) plus some nutella sauce.  Overall it was a lovely five year anniversary.
