Slow start after our long day yesterday. Then off to Ludlow. I had a cuppa with Freda while Linda did some business. Then we went to Tescos to shop for Linda & Freda. I remembered going to the supermarket with Ann last time & accidentally stealing some wine but was completely confused & disorientated until we realised it had been a different supermarket! ( no wonder the post office was nowhere near it and the castle was not here I remembered!)

Back home, unpack & late lunch and finally got away at 3:30. Dave & Linda had decided to take me to nearby Witley Court, they had never been there.

It was an amazing old home, parts of it Jacobean & parts Victorian, apparently Edward the 7th used to visit there for shooting parties. There was a fire in 1937 & it is now in ruins, but impressive ruins! We got there just in time to see the fountain running & what a fountain! They fire it up a few times per day and that was the last one of the day.

After exploring gardens and ruins we headed up to the church! They say it's unique in England for the very special enamel painted windows and the italianate decor. The walls are all creamy white with molding in gold. There was a gold leaf mosaic behind the alter! We were gob-smacked!

Home for a nice cup of tea and some of Linda's cake of which there seems to be a never ending supply and I don't have the strength to decline.

Sacked out in front of the Telly and watched a fascinating documentary about an artistic celebration of Titian, there was art, music, poetry and ballet.
