The weather was not looking great for sightseeing so change of plans. Shopping with Kirsten in Nottingham today and Ludlow tomorrow. Windsor in the weekend. Linda & Carol fine with that.

When Kirsten arrived home & chores were done Rob dropped us at the bus station. Nottingham less than 1/2 hr away by bus. We found a market stall with some Nottingham lace, decided to get some on the way back to the bus ( of course we were too late & it had closed).

Then we went to Kisrten's fav eating place wagamama - a noodle place. Then just followed our noses for a while. They lead into a few of K's favourite fashion shops and then I swear she lead me kicking and screaming into "hotel chocolate" but she swears it was kicking and screaming leaving it - I leave you to judge dear reader!

We had been told to find "Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem" -- the oldest pub in England est 1189 AD! It is built into the walls of Nottingham Castle. It's full of old memorabilia and old brewing equipment and the cellar tour reputedly leads you to an old cell. It seemed right to have a beer there so I did.

It was time to head back - we decided we would never make it back to the lace stall in time so went for coffee - Costa - a cafe chain here actually do a flat white - hoorah!!

Had managed to purchase a couple of gifts and saw Nottingham castle.

The umbrellas proved helpful during the thunder storm there and later when the bus dropped us outside Rob's house and the skies opened again.
