"Les Pensees" in French means "thoughts" and I'm pretty sure the meaning of the word pansy is "thinking of you" or something like that. I need to check that out with good old "google!"
Here is the pansy painting I did with my class last week. After everyone left, I looked at it deeply to see what could help it go from just a "pretty picture of pansies" to something a little more. The thought of a golden spider web came to mind, something to slip into the background, As I was finishing the spider web, I decided it needed an inhabitant, a creator, so a little golden spider is dangling from a golden thread. The gold is subtle and doesn't really show up well in the photo.
It was fun to do. Now I'm off to paint a clump of violets I dug up in the back yard surrounded by a few rocks and maybe my little cloth doll of "Linnea" - why not? She is the little cloth doll that goes with the adorable book "Linnea in Monet's Garden."
So....je vous quite - et "je pense a vous!" (As I leave, thinking of you!) A la prochaine!
