Re Letter Days, Yesterday and Today - Picked up the campervan from the sprayers yesterday evening - all silver now (except for the top bit of the sides that fold up which are still white.  Not a perfect match on the colour compared to the Pickup itself, but liveable with.  Many thanks to Debs for taking me to Garstang to collect it, as Roger can't drive at the moment for obvious reasons.  Also the van passed it's MOT with no problems, emissions very good - only thing I had to do was remove a sticker (a Romanian vignette, a sticker you purchase when you drive through their country to contribute to the upkeep of their roads while in transit through the country) as it was within the area of the windscreen that has to be kept clear - never been picked up before on previous MOTS elsewhere - been there a long time now.

We needed a letter from the mechanic for the insurance people to say that the conversion work had been done to a satisfactory and safe standard - and he was more than happy to do this for us, saying that it was a 'lovely conversion' and 'excellent workmanship', and that it was nice to see one that had been done 'properly' - so well done Roger for these accolades.

I've been talked through changing the battery for a new one, Roger supervising while wearing a bike helmet to protect his head from bumps.  Roger's brother, Richard helped tonight by putting the trims back on around the camper van.  Graham is coming tomorrow to start the list of jobs that need finishing off inside the camper before I leave on Wednesday next week.

Got the wood cut today for the new beds - Roger unimpressed that had t pay to get this cutting done rather than buying a sheet of mdf and cutting it himself.

Haircut and colour day today in preparation for the trip - will no doubt need a cut while on the road somewhere - but the hairdresser says my hair is very 'Chinese' in texture anyway.  I wonder if I'll get told off for being in the Ladies washrooms on campsites like I did when we were cycle camping? - because they think I'm a male !!!

Last Community Choir night tonight - there are only 3 members of the lowest voice group for one particular song we have been learning the last few times - and I'm not going to be there for the next 6 months and one of the other's is leaving to live in the Isle of Man next week so won't be back again.  I've a CD of some of the songs the choir sing to listen to and sing along to while I'm driving.  Will really miss the sessions.

Made a cushion today for the driver's door armrest so that it's comfortable and soft, and also at the right height for you to rest your arm while your arm is on the driving wheel - can get very tiring when doing long day's driving if you can't rest your elbow and forearm.  Need to do the same thing for the centre console now.  Again, something I've talked about doing on lots of our trips.

I've uploaded a couple of photo's of the camper as she looked after I picked her up from the sprayers, and put some 'before' photos on as well so that you can see the differences that Roger has done.  Note that the door is now taller than it was before, and the carious new lockers we have.  I certainly prefer the lack of decals now, but it's interesting that you can now see where a piece of wood is on the inside at the same level all around the camper - there's a shadow that tells you where it is on the inside - never saw this when the camper back was white.

Now, need to think of a name for her.  She's very definitely a girl, compared to Eric, the Landcruiser which is most certainly male.  Helen, my sister-in-law suggests that i should be something to do with the colour of Silver and has suggested Sylvia for her name.  I think I like this, so will take it as a working title at the moment for her and see if she grows into or out of this name.

Frustrated today because we missed a parcel being delivered on Monday (water filters) as Roger had to go to the hospital for his op.  Supposed to redeliver today so we made sure someone was here all day - but never turned up. I'll have to hang around here tomorrow for them as they wouldn't change the delivery address for us to go to the surgery instead, where there is always someone available to take in a parcel.
