Where I stayed
St. Louis West KOA
Not too many miles today, just about 440.
This is a really nice KOA, with a good pool, nice playground, and well maintained grounds. But what I like best is that my kabin (KOA uses a 'k' rather than a 'c') has air conditioning! I'm glad I have a cabin, because this campground is located both near a freeway (most KOAs are) and near an active railroad track. I usually can't get to sleep with that much noise, so sleeping in the tent would not work in this location.
It is just about dark and I'm listening to the night noises. Out in Yellowstone it was silent at night. Here in eastern Missouri the night is full of the incessant noises of insects and frogs and perhaps other critters, like in Alabama. Guess I really am close to home. Sadly, my trip is about completed. It's been great!!!! I've taken over 2000 pictures, plus some video on my camcorder. It will take a few weeks to edit the pictures, then I'll post them on both TravelPod and on Webshots.
