Where I stayed
Cultus Lake Provincial Park
Cultus Lake is south of Chilliwack in extreme southern BC. It appears to be an outlying suburb of Vancouver. I encountered TRAFFIC (as in stop and go, bumper to bumper!) in the afternoon through Chilliwack. Cultus Lake must be a popular spot for south BC families. This place was FULL and therefore noisy. I was glad I had reservations. There were more families with young children than any other campground so far on the trip. My campsite was nice, with a fair amount of privacy compared to most sites nearby. The lake is good for swimming as well as boating, but I had time for neither.
I chose this campground for its location and because it has showers. My internet research had revealed that campgrounds closer to Vancouver tend to be much more expensive, so Cultus Lake was probably my best choice for this area of southern BC.
