After a humungous English breakfast - as much as I could stuff in so that I didn't have to buy much lunch LOL, we were off again on the tube. Destination Tower of London. We had bought our tickets on the internet prior to leaving, as this gave us a discount. It seemed quite a hefty price tag at the time, and it said to allow three hours. Well, four and a half hours later we were still there. It was excellent value for money, there was so much to see. The White Tower had a huge exhibition of Henry 8th's armoury, sporting equipment and war equipment. They said he was obese at time of death but looking at his armour he was a great deal smaller in girth than many of the people you see wandering the streets these days. No McDonalds in those days. After our marathon effort at the Tower, we took in the Tower Bridge, another interesting place with good views of the Thames. From there the day was pretty shot, and as we were driving down to Canterbury to see my auntie and uncle and stay the night, we thought it was time to get out of the place.
