Knowing we would be reunited with Simon, Renae and Sid felt so good.  The now familiar palms, blue skies and Spanish architecture start to herald that we are back in L.A.
We leave the car at Burbank Airport, an easier option than LAX.. We arrive by taxi at our one bedroom fully self contained apartment in Atwater, not far from where Simon and Renae live. We are really happy with our little house and garden.  And it has "stones".  Little Sid loves stones and the garden is typically Spanish with lots of pave rs and stones.  We know he will love it here!!!
The kids are holidaying with Raelene and Brian in Yosemite National park so we have a couple of days to recuperate, catch up on a ten days backlog without washing facilities and learn about the local area.
We decided to take a tour of Warner Bros. studio and felt it was worth the money. The history of this great institution, the sets of shows like "The Mentalist" Larry's favourite, costumes, cars, props of everything you can think of for the vast array of productions, anything from Casablanca to Harry Potter,  Great fun and have to say the Americans produce highly articulate informative tour guides that are most impressive.
Our kids arrive back and it goes without saying we  were delighted to see them all.  Our little Sid is now fully ambulant and very proud of himself.  He is delightfully happy and enjoying exploring his new environment of house and garden.
We have an evening out with Simon, then all of us revisit to the Mexican we loved last time.  What a  joy to have Sid up there with us all eating the food and moving to the sounds of the music.Simon and I plan a Mother and Son night out and another with Raelene and Brian.
Simon and Renae feel there time in L.A is working well for their business.  They are very busy and have new leads for future work.  Their date for return to Australia isn't set yet but we anticipate possibly late June.
Now the next few days will be spent doing family activities with maybe a trip to the Botanical gardens.
So for this trip I will sign off and no doubt catch up with you all when we arrive back in Australia.

LA has a map of its "rail" system and I decide to take the Orange Line to Lake Balboa, where I can rent a bike.  The only thing is that the "train" is a bus with its own dedicated railway. As a bonus, it has a bike path along most of its route.  I explore the parks Van Nuys, before riding the bike trail to the line's end. It is also the end of LA, with desert hills looming nearby.

As Sue said it is great to catch up with all the family, including the in laws again. Love them all, but Sid's special smile and love is so special.  He melts us.

Of course, after accidentally booking our San Francisco Hotel for the same days and in the same area as Raelene and Brian, why should we be surprised to see an orange pram in a side street of LA. Yep, we had managed to be in the same place as Renae, Raelene and Sid in one of the largest cities in the world.

We fly out tomorrow, so this is the end of our blog. We have had a great holiday and learnt a lot about America. In most places we found we were just learning what was available around us when we were about to leave. This time in LA was no different.

thanks again Larry and Sue for sharing your blog. I am hoping we will get to see Simon and Renae and young Sid sometime after their return to Oz.
