The kids went off to the Leisure Center today. Janice and I shared a gallette and a crepe at an old-style galletterie in town that we've been meaning to try and then she got a haircut and a pedicure. I blogged, did some work, and did some more planning for the last part of our trip (Disney and Paris!).
Poor Ella pee'd her pants at the Leisure Center not more than two minutes before I showed up. Totally broke my heart. She was sobbing she was so embarassed. Took the kids home and Janice got them all cleaned up.
I had the shopping trip from hell. Short version here. Went to store for groceries for big Mexican meal we are cooking tomorrow for Vincent and Guenola family
. Took me over an hour to find what I needed. At the end of the list ... refried beans. Nowhere to be found. I looked for like twenty minutes. ARGH. Same thing goes for cilantro. And no chicken broth, only boullean. I'm really hoping the chicken tortilla soup will taste ok. ... Then to pay, and it turns out the 4 pack of beer must be purchased with 6 ... and its rush hour, and I don't speak French. Then, half the items don't ring up correctly and I can feel the glares of the locals burning through my head ... my cute out-of-town-uniqueness has just got old, real quick. Then, its discovered I mislabeled all the produce. Great. More delays for the people behind me. Thankfully my card swipes ok, but then it dawns on me that I forgot the grocery bags at home ... I've already overspent on groceries so I just load them all back in to the cart and figure I'll drive them loosely to the house, its not far away. Sweating now from the stress of searching for ingredients in the store and all the problems at checkout. Walk out and try to open the car. Won't open. Click the alarm/key thing. Nothing. What the heck. I bend down to look inside and don't see the kids' car seats. The driver inside confirms that this is the wrong car. Great. ... Two aisles over I find our car, same make, model, color. ... and then it starts to rain. And I get to put one item in the car at a time. PERFECT! ...
Back home, I rest, ...Janice cooks and gets the kids in bed ...and now... I'm off to bed!
And then, we rested.
