So yeah, updates...the computer I'm using has like 20 minutes of internet left so I won't be able to say all I want to.
I actually only started work this last monday...before that we had a week of orientation, the other interns and I. (There were 6 of us total, like in SE Asia...spoooooooky) The host family is really nice, although our relationship is still really formal. The living conditions are really rough; only some of their floors are marble, they only have a couple house boys, they don't have an an elevator to get to the second floor and the DVD player doesn't even have blu-ray on it.
As for the work...it's interesting. I have trouble characterizing it because it's not exactly fun, but it definitely isn't un-fun. I'm enjoying it. I guess it's...you know, being around sick/injured/depressed doggies all day doesn't necessarily scream "fun." :P The work has mostly involved trimming, bathing, feeding, and walking the animals that can walk. I'm in charge of this really sweet old dog who can't move her hind legs properly, and seems to have a bit of a breathing problem. Also, she doesn't eat much...anyway, I knew the work would have the capacity to be kind of depressing, but I think as I get more into it I start enjoying it more and seeing it all from a different angle.
The city itself is gorgeous, by the way...I'll get pictures up as soon as I can (I know, first time you all have heard that)
Talk to you soon I hope
:) love you all!
