Ever wondered that the Great Wall of China might need you?? Boy, it's time to pack your bags and jet set to China. You may not know that the Great Wall is among the "World's 100 Most Endangered Sites" in a list released by the World Monument Fund.

The incredible WALL, built over a period of 2,000 years, is under threat, mostly because of the hordes of tourists writing on or carving their names and comments into the wall itself. Moreover, large sections of the wall have been knocked down to facilitate roads while, in some sections locals have taken out stone from the wall to build homes and schools!!! Sorry state, no?? Plus all the litter left by tourists and visitors has aggravated the situation.

So, if you're interested, you can voluntarily participate in the conservation project designed to clean, repair and save the GREAT WALL.

But what's so interesting about it? You might ask. So, let me just jot down the highlights:

First, you have an opportunity to hike sections of the Great Wall running east to west about 4,500 miles through northern China...whoa!!

Second, you will learn about the rich history...cool!!

Next, you'll be provided lessons by experts from the "Great Wall Society" in the history, and culture of the Great Wall...better still!!

And what else?? Being is China and immersing yourself into the Oriental charm; isn't that tempting enough??

I have seen that volunteering programs are the best ways to bridge two different cultures, two different communities, and two different nationalities; opening new dimensions in the realm of learning, teaching, opportunities and travel as a whole. It might be tough for professionals, but for students, it's the best oppportunity to learn and understand a foreign culture.

So, if you're interested, you'll find all details on the official website...
