Nha Trang is a beach resort city. It took ages to get here from Dalat because we had to come down to windy mountain passes. They piled loads of people and bags on the bus and some big Canadian guy sat next to me. We chatted the whole way, he was a real package tour person and could not believe how little i was paying for my trip in comparison to him! Once we finally arived i got off with most the back packers and he stayed on with a few others to get driven to their luxury hotel!
Once we arived i looked at the place we were dropped off. It was a bit pricy but i got the price down a fair bit so decided to stay. It was a nice GH and the owners/staff really took a shine to me. As soon as i arived they talked me into getting a boat trip so i signed up and then spent the rest of the day relaxing and in the evening went out for a nice pizza.
The following day i went on this boat trip with 4 others from the GH. They were Angelina, Mark, and i cant remember the other two's names! Anyway we had a great time and i met loads of people on the boat. We went to 4 islands - none that were that special but the trip was excelent. There was entrtainment on the boat which consisted of an electric guitar and some drums made of old floats. They banged out a few tunes with some guy dressed as a woman singing - it was very funny! then there was a floating bar which we were all given free wine as we floated in the middle of the sea!
The snoorkling was not that good but then on the 3rd island we played loads of volleyball. I wish i had played more before as im not too good but it was a good laugh. The 4 friends i met were stauying at the same GH so we all went out for some food and drinks in the evening with a load of others (i think there was 13 of us for the meal) and then we went to a dodgy casino followed by an even dodgyer club. I refrained from gambeling or drinking as in need to save money for my diving.
The diving was the activity for the next day and i got a bargin $28 for2 dives (thats very good!) The diving wasnt amazing but there were a lot of swim throughs and it gave me a bit more eeriance. The water was SO much colder than what i have been used to and it is because it is the South China Sea rather than the Gulf of Thailand or the Andaman. I was paired up with a German guy who was just out of uni and we went off with the minimum of fuss and returned by luinch. It was good if not great but im really glad i did it.
On my way back i bumped into Derek. I was ment to meet him that night but he didnt show - i think he got lost on his way back to the GH as he had only just arived when i saw him. It didnt matter though as i watched the Assasination of Richard Nixon on TV which was pretty good and then got an early night.
The final day (today) in Nha Trang i hired a push bike and cycled to a market as well as some more ruins and then a pegoda. The ruins were ok and i got cheated out of a bit of money at the pegoda for 'donations' buit i really enjoyed cycling around. The market was an experiance, i had some noodle soup with some 'diced meat' i dont know what the meat was and im a little funny about it as theyt eat a lot of dog here! I also got the shakes really bad and when i was finishing it up i pretty much threw my bowl on the table almost drenching a family but i just missed! I have untill 6pm before my bus arives and i have checked out so i just need to waste the next 3.5 hours as i have filled up the rest of the day seeing all this other stuff. Not bad!
I also bought a couple more books so i am all set for a long journey tonight - a whopping 12 hours!

I Have a strange feeling of Deja Vu
Hello bitch, how are you?
Remember the film Groundhog day with Bill Murray? Well mate I hate to say this but I think its actually happening to you!
Went to Cheltenham this past weekend, the only fun thing happening there is the good old Mitchell brothers. Went on the lash with them and guess what, they didn't play any practical jokes on me. I survived!! The most amusing part of the time there was when the three of us had to rugby tackle a traffic cone (We were very drunk) whoever inflicted the most damage won, Brett won that one.
We had a good chat about you 'SHOULDER' and whilst we were in the pub we were trying to guess what you would be doing at that very moment. I can't speculate any further because I would probably be banned from this site ha ha ha.
Take care buddy,
Sam

Trafic cones certainly brings back a couple of memories for me too - remember when you had the trafic cone in your hand on the walk back to my house a few years back - and there was a van - and you swung the cone and.............. i wont reveal the rest just in case you get arrested mate! You never know who reads these logs.
How is Mr Mitchell and Mr Mitchell? Same old i guess -certainy sounds like it although im a little dissapionted you got home unscathed - i love seeing the fear in your eyes when you are in CHELTENHAM And the Mitchel bros are around- you get well nervous mate! mind u - i dont blame you after the fire extinguisher incident in COrk!
