From Chuy we went to Montevideo and I peusuaded Sarah that we should stop at Colonia Del Sacremento - 3 hours further along the d¿road from Montevideo - kind of on the way to Argentina.

We got on the bus at 7.30pm and arived at 10ish at night. Walked into the 2nd hostel - cooked some nice rice meal and went to sleep. We got up in the morning to find the bus connections completely appaling in Colonia Del Sacremento. As we had experianced before where the busses just go along the coast and do not go into the interior of the country unless it is via Montevideo, now we were faced with having to take a crazy route with many changes AND we have to leave in 3 hours! I thought this would be not time to see Colonia Del Sacremento but I was wrong.

Colonia Del Sacremento is a day trip destination from Buenos Aires. People hop accross the water on an expensive fast boat for 3 hours and can say they have seen Uruaguay. This of course isnt true but they will have seen a lovely little colonian town - hence the name Colonia Del Sacremento.

There are loads of tourists, loads of hotels, restuarants, bars with prices in US$ but it is still very picturesque and nice - I really enjoyed my 2 hours there and felt I had seen everything!

So now we head up to Salto - in uruaguay but on the boarder with Argentina. 8 hours away.
