Got the overnight bus to Montevideo and didnt sleep too much - Sarah not at all although she managed to consume umpteen cakes and sandwiches when she was only ment to have one pack! 1 Woke up to find a whole load which she had stolen under her seat!!

Once we got in on time we went to the Tourist Information, got the bus into town and pretty much walked straight to the cheapest hostel in town. A nice place with loads of different rooms varying in price and quality - did get a TV though!!

Uruaguay is simmilar to Argentina, the people are friendly and nice, the food is the same, the mate is the same, the steaks are the same but there is definatly something overwhelmingly different between Montevideo and Buenos Aires. The wealth of the poeple.

Montevideo almost looks soviet in its architecture and the poeple mope around in the rain. Its been raining for most the time here and that is another aspect simillar to Buenos Aires - its ment to be summer!!!

We have done very little here, we had a chill out day after the overnight bus journey and then yesterday we went out for a massive steak, some shopping, some museums and - some chess :-)

I like it here, people have a lot of time for you but our problem is we have just come from such an amazing city in Buenos Aires - I think almost everything would seem a little downcast afterwards - especially with crappy weather. Today we are heading along the south coast - maybe to the east - who knows - more to follow.

Yes, we are heading along the coast hopefully to better weather. We are heading to a little place called Cabo Polonio which I know nothing about but its ment to be nice - only 4 hours from here so it cant be bad!
