What can you say about Christmas Day in Melbourne?  You travel half way around the world for a nice warm, sunny Christmas, and what do you get?

Weather report for Christmas Day:

Morning: Overcast, cloudy, and some what chilly!
Lunchtime: Heavy rain, followed by hail stones!
Afternoon: Sunny spells, followed by further rain!

Apparently this was the coldest Christmas day on record and proof indeed that you really can get all four seasons weather in a day in Melbourne!  It even snowed in parts of the state with some kids seeing snow for the first time - probably the nearest I've ever been to a White Christmas!

After the morning's present opening session (thanks heaps to Deb and Rod who got me a pair of Colingwood AFL boxer shorts and cap) we headed to Uncle Steve's sprawling abode for Christmas dinner and all that goes with it.  Christmas dinner was very much like in the UK (although the seafood that preceded it was pretty awesome!) and the usual Turkey, Christmas Crackers, paper hats and too much alcohol proceeded in the most pleasant of fashions.

After a big night the last two nights however and an early start in the morning, it was to bed at 11pm having spoken to Mum, Dad, and Vicki on Skype for Xmas best wishes.

Tomorrow England to finally show their true colours at the MCG!
