Where I stayed
Geraldton 27/02/10
We awoke early once again and as we were all packed up, we headed to the beach to see the dolphins for the last time. Again it was lovely and there is a little video clip – stick with it as it comes good at the end!
After that we set off to Geraldton which was a really just a stop off point to break up the long journey to Fremantle. We did a short detour to Port Gregory to see the Pink Lake and then carried on the long, straight road to Geraldton. We passed some black fumes on the way and guessed it was bush fires which was quite scary, but little did we know until the next day.
It was so unbelievably hot that when we got out of the car at Geraldton, we took a few steps and then shot back into the car as the heat was unbearable (can't believe I’m saying this!). When we got to our very grotty motel (All Seasons again!) mid afternoon, the receptionist said it was 44.5c and it felt like a furnace – so incredibly hot that we both felt a little ill.
