We arrived in Siem Reap yesterday after taking a 6am bus from bangkok to the thailand border town (Ayrnathrpet?) then we took a tuk tuk to the cambodian consulate.  Paid 30US to get the visa and then walked through customs and immigration for both countries. Once in Cambodia we took a private taxi from Poipet (cambodian border town) to Siem Reap for 50US.  The bus trip was about 4 hours and the taxi ride was about 3.5 hours over some pretty bad roads.  This morning Kerry and I met our tuk tuk (like a chariot with top covering except its pulled by a scooter) driver at 5am and made it to angkor wat by sunrise.  It was quite the experience....we took a LOT of pictures.  There are other impressive temples scattered around the area as well.  We headed back to the hotel at around 11am after seeing all the temples we were up for to check back on dave at the hotel room.  He started feeling feverish last night and decided thism ornig to sit it out.  He's going to go check out the temples tomorrow though and then we'll leave the day after that heading back towards bangkok and then either to Laos or Changmai, Thailand.  I'll write more later and hopefully put up some pictures, but the internet at our current place is archaic. In fact, that reminds me, I wanted to take a picture of the computer i'm using right now.....i can't believe its able to connect to the internet, it looks just a shade above the commador 64 computers we had back in 3rd grade!! ha  Not complaining though, at least I get this entry posted : )
