Where I stayed
In the Flint Hills of Kansas
What I did
grasslands as far as the eye can see
So here we are in the middle of nowhere, We have been to worse nowheres, like Kuwait and Johnny to Afghanistan, and this is not the worst. but I has the slow corroding power to zap the soul of that extremely energizing feeling I call life. its windblown and vast here, grasslands as far as the eye can see. extreme cold and heat, tornado's and black roads leading straight for hundreds of miles in all directions. We came here with the Army. and like all things in life through contrast and relativity we have come to respect what beauty the world has to offer, even here, but it is time to leave after 3 long years. Perhaps you have lived in Kansas and are upset by my lack of attachment. but I was born by the sea and I need it as much as fish needs water. Me and my husband need freedom. we gave most of that up to protect it, ironically that is what you must do to Serve your Country. but now we cant to enjoy the freedom we fought for. we want to see the countryside and people that made it all worth it. So our planning and plotting begins as does our countdown to a new life.
