Gatlinburg, TN is noted for its craft community.  The guide to the city include a 10 mile circle that houses many crafters [probably a make up word]  and their stores.  We headed out on tour stopping at stores that peaked our interest.  There were about 100 stores that were on the loop.  We stopped at enough to get our fill of crafts for Gatlinburg.

I washed the Durango after lunch then we headed toward the Great Smoky Mountain NP - on an auto tour that we have not taken yet.   Then it started to sprinkle - then showers, then rain. O'well it is my fault - I washed the car.

We went on Roaring Fork Rd that loops up from the 1300 foot level at Gatlinburg to over 3000 feet, then back to Gatlinburg again --  a total of about 20 miles.  Much of the road was one way and limited to 10 mph up and down.  The view was mostly of dense forest land with a few historic rustic  [hill billy type] cabins.  There was also some creeks with large roundy [new word too]  boulders that seemed to follow the road on the way up and down.

Tomorrow we head out to Louisville, KY to see the Kentucky Derby Museum and Churchill Downs.
