For the afternoon activity Katie, Emma and I chose horseback riding. Tom B. also joined us, he was in the same room as the guys, they hadn't met him but new his name from looking through his stuff on his bed. He's cool, cute, a little arrogant and turned out to be a jerk (in the girls opinions) later on. Anyway, so the 4 of us are on our horses for 5 mintues going down the trail when Emma's takes off for a few seconds, she freaked out and got off and wouldn't get back on
. So she went quad bike riding instead. The rest of us continued, the scenery was nice, but not as spectacular as we had pictured it to be. My horse didn't listen to a word i said and dragged me through trees and bushes with thorns. Katie's horse was lazy and slow and we had to keep waiting around for him to catch up. After an hour I was ready to go home and had enough with horse riding. We tried trotting and cantering a little bit but i hated it and felt like i was going to bounce right off. We were on our way back, going through a big wide open field, Tom's horse takes off running, then mine follows!! I'm talking about a full speed gallop! And I'm screaming my head off to STOP!!! But it doesn't listen!! They ran for a good 20 or 30 seconds it seems until they finally stopped, I was scared but more angry but who to be angry at? It's just an animal with a mind of its own. Throughout that ride i was picturing the scene from the movie The Wedding Planner, when Jennifer Lopez's horse takes off, then a moment later Mathew McConohey's on his right after her and pulls her off and rescue her. I was hoping for some handsome man to come along and save me but it didn't happen!
The whole group went to dinner at a pizza place and us 3 got there late, when we got there, there were other girls sitting with our guys! We felt like, betrayed and left out!! After everyone was a little more drunk the table broke up and we all mingled together. Tom bought us some shots to make up for not paying attention to us!
We met some local Kiwi guys and partyed with them too. Everyone had a great night!
On the way to Westport we stopped for a 2 hour hike to a lake, the guide and half of the group went so fast about 20 of us were left behind! I was pretty annoyed, your supose to walk at the pace of the slowest walker to keep the group together. We were lost a couple of times. We had a new driver/guide now named Matty, super hot and a laid back funny guy, and he's superfit so he just flew down the path. Most of us had flip flops on and had to walk through mud and over rocks. Not fun! We made it out to the beautiful lake and walked around it and had our lunch on a dock over looking it.
