Speaking of hostel T.V rooms there's something to be said for the choice of films on offer, and the films people pick to watch in their free time. Thank the lord I'm not by a beach anymore, because it would be subjected to 24/7 surf videos, and I'd rather gouge my eyes out Q-tips dipped in acid. When you've been living at a hostel for a while, the TV room becomes YOUR T.V room. So this one is mine. Nobody elses. It's mine. All mine. As a film fascist, I will allow the occasional decent film choice by a fellow guest, but woe betide the buffoon who decided to spend his afternoon with Bevis and Butthead Do America, and if I have to watch Rocknrolla one more time I'm going postal.
I think you get the impression I'm not doing very much. That's because I'm not. I'm actually alarmed at how lazy I have become. It's just the thought of heaving that backpack around again is abominable. I thought that I would be merrily skipping from country to country at pace, but it's not until being here that I meet people who are just taking it easy. A friend actually said he thought I was flying through. There are people who have been in the hostel for several months. It's ok to slow down and relax for a while, and I've got to stop being too hard on myself about it.
My time in Medellin draws to a close however. I just need to get this date out of the way.
That didn't come out the way I intended.
Of course if it goes well I might stay longer.
I might never leave.
A nice appartment here will set you back 35,000 Euros.
