After breakfast at our hotel in Rivas (included) we took a quick look around town and changed some money. Then we caught a taxi to the ferry dock in San Jorge to go over to the island of Ometepe.
The ferrys (that can transport vehicles) run quite a few times during the day and, in between, small boats also make the run.
On our arrival in Moyogalpa (the town on the south-western side of the island) we found a taxi to take us to where we'd arranged to stay - Hotel Charco Verde - which is fairly close to Moyogalpa and is right next to the Charco Verde Nature Reserve. No rooms were available in the hotel but they did have a cabin, which we took.
We went out for a late afternoon/evening walk in the reserve and saw quite a few birds.
