The favourite exercise and leisure activity of the locals (at least for my students at CWF) seems to be going to Olympic Stadium to jog, play volleyball, soccer, swim and ..... dance. Although it seems watching others dance is more the style of many.
There is definitely a party atmosphere - lots of food and drink vendors and competing dance classes ring the top of the stadium, while a soccer match goes almost unwatched in the stadium itself.
All ages and getups involved. Nearly all the instructors were wearing jeans and even thongs and working up a healthy sweat... as did I.
We took along Soriya, Sraepao and Seanglay from the house and school and achieved wonders in actually getting them to dance with us for a while. Watching is more their style normally. The crazy foreigners attracted more than their fair share of attention but I figure, what the heh?
Lots of laughs and can't wait to go back for more.
Disappointing photos -sorry about that.
