The night train from Venice to Vienna was not nearly as bad as the one from Naples to Venice. Unlike the first night train, this one gave you a sleeper. This allowed for a little bit of movement, and the ability to to stretch out. I still did not get much sleep on the train though.

We got into Vienna at nine in the morning, and imediately found our hostel. We dropped off our bags and started walking towards the city center. We looked for a good place to eat, that was serving a real breakfast but nothing was open, so we had breakfast at McDonalds. After breakfast we continued walking, and we began to notice that a group of people holding up banners, and signs, that we couldn't read of course, were marching in the same direction as us. We thought they were protestors. As we walked, their numbers grew until there were hundreds of them. We began to get a bit nervous, thinking a riot might break out or something. Little did we know, May 1st is Labour day, and they were going to the celebrations at their Parlament building. We stayed around the celebration for a little bit, but eventually headed back to our hostel. That night we bought some tickets to a concert in one of the many music halls in Vienna. They had a great show, of classical music mixed with a little Ballet and Opera. It was a great experience, and was well worth going to. We stayed for two nights in Vienna, but never saw too much more on the second day. We saw a palace, and a couple other cool buildings, but not much more, Simon was a bit worried about being just about out of money, and being able to get back to Belgium. On monday morning we took a train to Prague.
