Another 8hr bus journey to the capital of Costa Rica.. great thing about Central America it is great for travelling around as countries are relatively small compared to South America.

Everybody had warned us how ugly the capital cities in Central America and try and not spend a night in them.. unfortunately we had the experience of arriving into San Jose at 1am on a Saturday night.. not a pretty sight to say the least... in our short taxi ride we spotted lots of lady boys violently robbing people, people smoking crack cocaine the other side of the road... thank God the tax driver found us a hotel.. charged us a nice little commission but we werent going to take the risk....

Got the first bus out of San Jose the following morning, went to a recommended place called La Fortuna which is famous for its active volcano..... found everything to be expensive... well the same price as U.S.A.. dont get me wrong i have nothing against the U.S.A but if i wanted to experience U.S.A i would have went backpacking around the States... for me Costa Rica is just the States away from home... $40 for tour of volcano that is only $6 or free in South America.. oh yeah and you only see the volcano from the roadside for that, all the beach towns have been taken over by US expats and did i mention already  everything is totally overpriced....

So we just spent our time getting a rest and drinking a few beers on our balcony as we couldnt afford to have them in bars....

Time to move out of Costa Rica... maybe i will return some day when i have loads of dollars or maybe not....
