The Lake District Argentina:

Bariloche:

Well finally we managed to get a bus, so we decided to go to Bariloche, the capital city of the Lake District in Bariloche.
Most importantly we are back in civilisation, we felt deprived after our week of hitch hiking and crappy food so we sure lived it up in Bariloche for 4 days.

Bariloche is really pretty city set in the middle of a gorgeous national park, set on the lake of Nahuel Huapi, surrounded by alpine trees, mountains, pristine waters... i reckon we should work for the Bariloche tourist board.

The city centre is full of chocolate shops, every second shop is a chocolate shop, Willy Wonka heaven...

We really spoiled ourselves here, but you can do it so cheap here it would be a crime not to... lots of good food, happy hour mexican cocktails ( 2 pina coladas for 2 euro... we were like giggly children after eating too many smarties after a few hours), Stephen managed to get a round of golf in a five star golf resort called Llao Llao.

We took a fabulous boat trip out to the remote island of Puerto Blest, nobody lives here, there is just one hotel and it is so peaceful and beautiful... heaven would be one word to describe it.

San Martin de Los Andes:

We managed to drag ourselves away from Bariloche after four days...our bank balance was beginning to detoriate rapidly.. got a 3 hour bus to a little elite town in the Lake District, this is where the rich and famous hang out in the summer and for skiing in winter...its surrounded by two mountains and full of wood chalets and cabins.
Managed to get a really cool cabin for 2 nights.
Climbed 3km to a viewpoint to see awesome view of the Lacar Lake, only one problem we managed to lose track of the trail at one point and ended up trespassing on the indigenous people land and then a bull was staring us in the face....

Now its off to the wine country.... only 22hrs away on the bus....
