One of the most historically influential Roman emperors (see my blog intro!), Constantine the Great was from Nis. The site at Mediana is a short city bus ride from the Skull Tower, where they have found the remains of a palace built here in the 4th century. Not much to look at, but to walk around where such an Constantine (and later his sons) ruled and hung out some of the time is mostly what it's all about.
